The WorkTango team is the engine behind our mission to create a powerful and innovative employee experience for our customers. We couldn’t do what we do without the incredible employees behind our software, and we want to make sure their work feels meaningful.
WorkTango’s Marketing department is passionate about achieving growth through communicating the value of our platform, and we believe that we have a very strong team working behind that objective. With that said, next up in our Employee Spotlight blog series is our Marketing Operations Manager, Alicia C., who has been with WorkTango since October 2022.
1. What made you choose to join the WorkTango team?
From the very first conversation with the team during interviews, I knew that this was the place I wanted to work. Everyone I talked to was enthusiastic, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable. It was invigorating!
Beyond the amazing team, I am excited to be working with a company that offers an incredibly valuable platform. I truly believe in what the WorkTango employee experience platform offers to organizations that put their people first.
2. What is the most rewarding part of your role at WorkTango?
Building so many cross-functional friendships and partnerships! My prior roles have always been very focused on living, breathing, and sitting within just the marketing team. It’s exciting to work closely with our sales, RevOps, and customer success teams, to name a few.
3. What is your most proud moment in your career?
Earlier in my career, I worked for a company that used a lot of old-school sales and marketing tactics, such as an outdated website, lots of cold calling, and list buying. Sales was bringing in very few leads with a very long sales cycle. Marketing was not bringing in any leads beyond the top of the funnel.
When I joined the team, I proposed completely changing the strategy. I redesigned and launched a new website in my first 60 days, introduced inbound marketing methodology, and generated over $1 million in marketing-generated pipeline in the following 8 months.
As a marketer, it’s a great feeling to see the tangible results of your hard work. That was a pivotal moment early in my career, especially in building a strong understanding of sales cycles, pain points, and messaging.
4. How have you grown since starting at WorkTango?
It’s hard to believe that it’s been just about two months of time on this team. My understanding of HR Tech has grown tremendously and I’m extremely appreciative of all the resources that have been available to me to aid with that.
5. What’s one thing people may not know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
I’m an avid fan of LEGO sets. My partner and I have built a few cars together, and I hope to continue to build out our collection in the new year!
6. What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
Ask questions, even if you think they’re dumb! I’m a firm believer that the best way to learn is to ask (at least, that’s how I learn best). There were so many meetings that I would walk away thinking “What did they mean when they said ____?” – I would avoid asking the question because I didn’t want to show a lack of knowledge.
7. What’s one thing on your bucket list?
My mom was born (and raised for part of her childhood) in Austria. I have yet to visit my family that lives there! It’s definitely on the top of the bucket list to travel there.
Building a culture of appreciation is something we take seriously here at WorkTango. We believe that by putting our people first, ensuring their voices are heard, and making sure every team member feels aligned and appreciated for their work, they will continue to drive us forward as an organization. Today, we are grateful for Alicia, who promotes our powerful platform to businesses who want to transform their employee experience. Thank you, Alicia!
